Kindî, Fârâbî, İbn Sînâ ile İslâm düşünce tarihinde Meşşâî filozoflar içinde zikredilen İbn Rüşd; tarihî süreç içerisinde Meşşâî düşünceye yapılan itirazlara bir cevabı temsil ediyor olu-şundan anlamlı bir yere sahiptir. İbn Rüşd, Tehâfütü’t-Tehâfüt adlı eserinde, Gazâlî’nin filozof-ları eleştirdiği yirmi ayrı meselenin her birini ayrı ayrı ele alarak kendine göre onun eleştirile-rinde haksız olduğu noktaları ortaya koymuştur. Türkçede İbn Rüşd literatürüne ilişkin çeşitli yayınları görmek mümkündür. Bu çeşitlilik, okura zengin okuma seçenekleri sunmaktadır. Bu alanda üzerinde durulması gereken çalışmalardan biri de Büyük İslam Filozofu İbn-i Rüşd adlı kolektif eserdir. Kitap, Diyanet İlmî Dergi İbn Rüşd Özel Sayısı’nda yer alan, felsefe ve İslâm felsefesi alanındaki çalışmalarıyla tanınan on bir yazarın, filozofu farklı yönleriyle ele aldığı on bir ana bölümden oluşmaktadır. Bu makalede, Türkçe literatürdeki İbn Rüşd alanına ilişkin çalışmalardan biri olan Büyük İslam Filozofu İbn-i Rüşd başlıklı kitabın tanıtım ve değerlen-dirmesi yapılmıştır. Kitap, felsefi düşüncenin savunulmasında görüşlerini Kur’an’la temellendi-rerek Gazâlî ile başlayan felsefenin yaşadığı meşruiyet krizini aşmaya çalışan, İslâm düşünce tarihinin önemli akımlarından biri konumundaki Meşşâî ekole mensup olan İbn Rüşd’ü, farklı yönleriyle ele alıp incelemektedir. Büyük İslam Filozofu İbn-i Rüşd adlı çalışma, felsefe ve İs-lâm felsefesi alanındaki çalışmalarıyla tanınan on bir yazar tarafından kaleme alınan on bir ana bölümden oluşmaktadır.

Ibn Rushd, who is mentioned among Kindi, Fârâbî, İbn Sînâ and Peripatetic philoso-phers in the history of Islamic thought; It has a meaningful place as it represents an answer to the objections made to Peripatetic thought in the historical process. In his work called Tehâfütü't-Tehâfüt, Ibn Rushd dealt with each of the twenty different issues that al-Ghazali criticized the philosophers, and revealed the points where he was unfair in his criticisms. It is possible to see various publications on Ibn Rushd literature in Turkish. This diversity offers the reader rich read-ing options. One of the studies that should be focused on in this field is the collective work called Ibn Rushd, the Great Islamic Philosopher. The book consists of eleven main chapters, in which eleven authors, who are known for their work in philosophy and Islamic philosophy, included in the Special Issue of the Religious Journal of Religious Studies, discuss the philosopher from differ-ent aspects. In this article, the book titled The Great Islamic Philosopher Ibn Rushd, which is one of the studies on the field of Ibn Rushd in Turkish literature, has been introduced and evaluated. The book examines Ibn Rushd, who is a member of the Peripatetic school, one of the important currents in the history of Islamic thought, who tried to overcome the legitimacy crisis of philoso-phy that started with Ghazali by basing his views on the Qur'an in the defense of philosophical thought, with different aspects. The work called The Great Islamic Philosopher Ibn Rushd con-sists of eleven main chapters written by eleven authors who are known for their work in philoso-phy and Islamic philosophy.
