Allah Teâlâ Kur’ân-ı Kerim’de kendisini “Allah” kelimesiyle tesmiye etmiştir. “Allah” denildiğinde kimsenin aklına Allah-ı Azimuşşân’dan başkası gelmez. Bu lafız Onun hâs ismidir. Tanrı, İlah, Ma’bud, Mevlâ ve Hüdâ gibi kelimeler bazen Türkçede Allah lafzıyla eşanlamlı kullanılmaktadır. Mevcut durum böyle iken, bu kelimeler gerçekten Allah lafzının eşanlamlıları mıdır? sorusuna Elmalılı’nın da içlerinde olduğu pek çok âlim, “değildir” cevabını vermişlerdir. İlk harfleri büyük yazılan bu kelimelerin hiçbiri, özellikle de Tanrı kelimesi, Allah lafzını kastederek onun yerine kullanılsa da hâs isim olarak eşanlamlı değildir. Bunun yanında Elmalılı, değişik dillerde Allah lafzının ism-i hâssını bulmanın mümkün olduğu görüşündedir. Türkçede ism-i hâs olan bu eşanlamlı kelimenin hangisi olduğu Yunus Emre’nin Divân’ında araştırılmıştır. Zira Yunus Emre din dilindeki başka özel isimlerin halk dilindeki eşanlamlılarına dizelerinde yer vermiştir. Bu araştırma sonunda Çalab kelimesinin Divân’da Allah, Tanrı, İlah, Mevlâ gibi kelimelerden çok daha fazla ve Allah lafzıyla hâs isim kategorisinde eşanlamlı kullanıldığı görülmüştür. Divân’da Çalab kelimesin bütün kullanımları dikkate alınmış, kelimenin geçtiği dizeler konu itibariyle tasnif edilerek on üç alt başlık altında tek tek incelenmiştir. Bu inceleme neticesinde Allah lafzıyla eşanlamlı kullanılan özellikle Tanrı kelimesinin bir hâs isim olarak Lafzatullah’ın eş anlamlısı olmadığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bundan dolayı Tanrı kelimesinin Allah lafzıyla birebir eşanlamlı sanılıp özellikle dinî içerikli yazı ve eserlerde kullanılmasının geleneğe uygun, bilimsel, haklı ve doğru bir tutum olamayacağı ifade edilmelidir.

Allah Ta’ala has referred to himself by the name of “Allah” in the Qur’an. It is His proper name. When said, “Allah,” no one thinks of anyone but Allah Azimushan. The words God, Ma’bud, Mewlâ and Hüdâ are sometimes used synonymously with the word Allah in Turkish. To the question of whether these words really synonymous with the word Allah, many scholars, including Elmalılı gave the answer “not”. None of these words with capital letters, especially the word God, it is not a synonym for Allah although it is used in place of that word. Elmalılı believes that it is also possible to find the separate names of the words of “Allah” in different languages. The meaning of this synonym word, which is unique in Turkish, has been researched in Yunus Emre’s Divân. Because Yunus Emre gave place to synonyms of other proper nouns in the language of religion in his verses. At the end of this research, it has been that the word Çalab is used much more often in the Divân than words such as Allah, God, Ilah, Mewlâ, and synonymous with the word Allah in the category of specific names. All uses of the word Çalab in the Divân were taken into account. The lines in which the word were classified and examined one by one under thirteen sub-headings. As a result of this examination, it has been concluded that the word God, which is used synonymously with the word Allah, is not a synonym for Lafzatullah as a proper noun. For this reason, it should be stated that the word “God” is thought to be synonymous with the word “Allah” and that its use, especially in religious writings and texts, cannot be a traditional, scientific, just and correct attitude.
